Lockheed Martin Corp. said Tuesday it received a $260 million follow-on production contract from the U.S. Army to provide Arrowhead kits to upgrade infrared sensors and electronics on Apache helicopters.
The enhancements provide Apache pilots with better engagement and flying capabilities, including improved night vision.
The contract extends production through April 2013.
Lockheed Martin rolled out the first Arrowhead system to the U.S. Army in May 2005, and completed integration on the first Apache helicopters in June 2005.
Lockheed shares rose 71 cents to $72.65 in late morning trading.
