NEW YORK (AP) -- Boeing Co. said Wednesday that Qatar Airways placed orders for five long-haul jets with a combined list price of $1.4 billion.
The companies did not disclose how much the airline will actually pay. Aircraft manufacturers routinely give discounts to good customers.
Qatar Airways ordered three Boeing 777 freighters and two 777-300ERs, an extended-range passenger version of the same plane. The airline currently operates 25 777s.
Boeing said it previously listed and accounted for the deals on its orders website but had not identified the buyer.
