This Mile Long Escalator Leads To A London Train That Stretches 60 Miles

Getting around London is about to get easier.

Getting around London is about to get easier. The Elizabeth line is London's new high-speed train. The route will stretch 60 miles and cover 40 stations across London. Crossrail is installing over 81 escalators in the new line and over 200 million passengers a year will use these escalators. Over half of these have already been installed. Together they will cover one mile of escalator. These escalators will go about 1.1 mph and are installed at a 30 degree incline. The new line will make travel easier for passengers. There is a light at the end of the tunnel for the people of London. The project is 85% complete and the Elizabeth line is set to open in December 2018.
