NASA engineers designed a testing facility to see how much is too much "boom."

NASA engineers at Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., are doing studies that could lead to the return of supersonic passenger travel with low boom aircraft — jets that can fly over land without window-rattling sonic booms.
