According to the company, the computers allow professionals to run graphics- or compute-intensive applications faster and more accurately, regardless of their location.

The Dell Precision M4700 and M6700 incorporate the Intel Core i5, i7 and Extreme Edition processors alongside a choice of professional graphics capabilities, includign the NVIDIA Quadro K-series and AMD FirePro GPUs. With up to 32GB of DDR3 system memory and solid state drives up to 512GB, the workstations can access large data sets quickly and reliably. In addition, both workstations can come with RAID 0/1/5 storage solutions, which provides up to 2.8GB for the M6700.

The chassis is made out of a durable aluminum and magnesium alloy that is MIL-STD 810G tested and provides a light 17-inch design. Both workstations offer a variety of WLED and IPS RGB LED display options with a wide spectrum of colors, and the M6700 will also be the first mobile workstation to offer 10+ finder multi-touch input in the coming months.

All three new mobile workstations are available for purchase starting today. The U.S. starting prices are $1,649 for the Dell Precision M4700, $2,199 for the M6700 and $3,579 for the M6700 Covet when all configurations are available.
