Man Killed In Accident At WI Metals Facility

Authorities are investigating an accident that led to the death of a factory worker at a Wisconsin facility.

Authorities are investigating an accident that led to the death of a factory worker at a Wisconsin facility.

According to reports, the accident occurred on Monday, Oct. 16 at Russel Metals Williams Bachall Milwaukee, WI facility. Russel Metals is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

The worker has been identified as Kelvis Price, 42, and 18-year-employee at the company. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office reports that Price was crushed by a 5,000-pound piece of metal after magnets, on the crane he was operating, failed. Price died Tuesday from multiple blunt force injuries caused in the accident.

"We are extremely saddened by this accident,” said John Reid, President and Chief Operating Officer of Russel Metals. “The individual who lost his life was an 18-year employee of the company, and we are focused on assisting the employee's family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time."

Brian Hedges, Chief Executive Officer of Russel Metals, said that safety of their employees is paramount in all operations.

“This is a loss which is profoundly felt by everyone at Russel Metals,” Hedges said.
