Fiat Chrysler's longtime quality chief is leaving the company a day after its brands performed poorly in the annual Consumer Reports reliability rankings.
Fiat Chrysler says Senior Vice President of Quality Doug Betts will pursue other interests. He will be replaced by Mark Chernoby, who will head quality for the global company, and Matthew Liddane, who will lead Chrysler Group quality in North America.
Betts has been Chrysler's quality chief since June of 2009. He joined Chrysler in 2007 after stints with Nissan and Toyota.
The recently merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles fared worst in the magazine's rankings. The Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Fiat brands occupied the bottom four spots.
