NEW YORK (Kyodo) -- Honda Motor Co. said Thursday that it will recall 27,887 of its Odyssey minivans in the United States and other countries to repair a defective electrical component in the side curtain airbag system.
The faulty component could prevent the airbag system from properly deploying in a crash, although there have been no reports of injuries or accidents linked to the fault, the company said.
Of the affected vehicles of the 2014 model-year Odyssey, the Japanese car maker will recall 24,889 in the U.S. market and 1,501 in Canada.
