Rockwell Automation To Acquire Jacobs Automation

Rockwell Automation today announced its intention to acquire Jacobs Automation, a developer of intelligent track motion control technology. The company will be integrated into Rockwell Automation’s Motion Business, with the acquisition expected to close in January 2014.

Milwaukee, Wis. (Manufacturing.net) β€” Rockwell Automation today announced its intention to acquire Jacobs Automation, a developer of intelligent track motion control technology. The company will be integrated into Rockwell Automation’s Motion Business, with the acquisition expected to close in January 2014.

The Erlanger, Ky., company is best-known for its iTRAK System, which helps companies improve performance in packaging, material handling and other applications. By enabling independent control of multiple magnetically-propelled movers, the system enables machine and equipment builders to reduce cost and complexity, while making for easier standardization.

Victor Swint, vice president, Motion Control Business, Rockwell Automation said: β€œThe combination of iTRAK technology with our Integrated Architecture will be a game changer for machine builders. It will provide customers with new technology to enhance performance and flexibility, so they can quickly respond to changing market demands.”
