Honeywell International Inc. has announced plans for $208 million in expansion projects at its Louisiana production sites in Baton Rouge, Shreveport and Geismar. The expansion projects are estimated to create 42 new jobs at the sites, with an average salary of $68,300.

GONZALES, La. (AP) -- Honeywell International Inc. has announced plans for $208 million in expansion projects at its Louisiana production sites in Baton Rouge, Shreveport and Geismar.

Gov. Bobby Jindal announced the plans Monday with Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies CEO Andreas Kramvis. The expansion projects are estimated to create 42 new jobs at the sites, with an average salary of $68,300.

Honeywell makes products ranging from aircraft systems to automotive parts, and materials and technologies used to manufacture products like nylon and computer chips.

Jindal says the company is considering other possible Louisiana projects that could add another $1 billion investment over a decade.

The state is offering a modernization tax credit up to $15.5 million. The full tax break will be provided if Honeywell invests $690 million and creates 175 new direct jobs.
