HAYWOOD, W.Va. (AP) — The worker killed at a Harrison County power plant has been identified, and a federal investigation is under way.
The Exponent Telegram (http://bit.ly/pYyoyu) says the victim was 63-year-old Ned Johnson of Rivesville.
He died Sunday when he was pinned between a machine and a wall at the Harrison Power Station in Haywood. Plant owner FirstEnergy says he'd worked for the company for 25 years.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been at the site since Monday gathering evidence. It has six months to complete its probe
OSHA deputy regional director Joanna Hawkins says the last inspection of the plant was in 2000.
It was cited for two serious violations, one involving flammable materials and one related to welding and cutting. It was not fined.
The plant employs 210 people.
