An ‘Easy-to-Operate’ Flying Car

A startup hopes to make its airborne vehicle accessible to regular drivers.

A startup developer of flying car technology unveiled its debut vehicle this week.

AIR, like numerous startups and established companies around the world, is working on an electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing aircraft.

But the Israeli company says its technology will bring the urban air mobility revolution to the masses.

The AIR ONE will be able to carry two passengers up to 155 miles per hour for a range of 110 miles.

The company says its “fly-by-intent” software lets ordinary drivers — not just trained pilots — operate flying cars more or less like conventional vehicles.

AIR hopes to achieve FAA certification by the end of 2023 and begin selling flying cars in the U.S. in 2024.

Officials said the price tag would rival that of an expensive car.

The company began accepting pre-orders on Tuesday.
