Meat Companies to Pay Vaccine Bonuses

Internal surveys have shown that 60 to 90 percent of employees at meat facilities are open to vaccination.

JBS USA and Pilgrim's Pride are offering employees $100 bonuses to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccines are voluntary and internal surveys have shown that 60% to 90% of employees at facilities are open to vaccination.

According to Reuters, the companies are working with local agencies to have the vaccines delivered to each location.

JBS recently faced accusations of COVID-19 protocol negligence and OSHA cited the company for more than $2 million for coronavirus violations.

Employers can require employees to get the vaccine, with some exceptions.

Fellow meatpacker Tyson Foods plans to offer onsite vaccinations on company time.

On Friday, yogurt giant Chobani announced plans to offer workers six hours paid time to get vaccinations, three-hours for each dose.
