Boeing’s 737 MAX jet has been grounded since March of 2019 after 346 people died aboard two separate flights.
Boeing has faced numerous setbacks as it continues to re-engineer the plane and address regulatory requirements.
Reuters has reported that Boeing has scheduled a key certification test for late June.
Boeing has been working on software updates that control the plane’s stability.
The aerospace company has also committed to changing the placement of certain wiring bundles that were flagged as potentially dangerous.
Boeing recently resumed production of the aircraft, but it’s been reported that the FAA won’t clear it to fly until at least August.
The agency has said the aircraft will be cleared “only after the FAA is satisfied that all safety-related issues are addressed.”
