Misconception Plaguing Coil Replacement Industry Officially Debunked
When the coils in an HVAC unit need replacement, many think they must use the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to obtain the correct part. While this may have been true in the early years of coil production, it is no longer the case in today’s market. The belief that only OEMs can make a replacement coil that will fit and function in a unit is an enduring misunderstanding in the coil i...

Refrigeration Systems Delivers Improved Head Pressure Control with Three-Bank Fan Condensing Units
Refrigeration Systems (RSI), an industry leader in the design and production of engineered heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems, announces the availability of its industry-leading condensing units, with a unique three-fan design that delivers improved head pressure control. RSI condensers feature three separate circuits and, in the past, shared 2 banks of fans. Now, with three banks of fans, each compressor circuit has its own set of fans, which helps to improve head pressure control. This design is unique to RSI. RSI Condensing Units are available in a wide range of configurations, including single, dual, or multiple compressor arrangements with air-cooled or evaporative cooled systems. As a result, RSI Condensing Units are suitable to address a variety of applications and load requirements. All RSI Condensing Units are designed to operate in diverse and demanding environments including high and low ambient conditions and high altitude locations, and can even be treated to operate in corrosive environments. Additionally, the units ship fully assembled and with a dry nitrogen holding charge, making installation and setup fast and easy. Learn more about RSI’s three-fan condenser technology from the Refrigeration Systems website. Refrigeration Systems (RSI), is a division of RAE Corporation.

Century Refrigeration’s Centinel™ Defrost Control System Significantly Reduces Refrigeration Systems’ Energy Usage
Century Refrigeration announces the release of the new Centinel™ Intelligent Defrost Control System. This control system improves refrigeration systems’ energy efficiency, eliminates icing and fogging, and reduces operating costs. A traditional defrost control system relies upon a room thermostat, defrost time clock, and defrost termination/fan delay thermostat for mechanical control of the refrigeration system. The Centinel instead consists of a microprocessor-driven controller, 4 temperature sensors, and a suction transducer. The microprocessor, paired with the advanced, sensitive temperature sensors, controls the system with a precision and accuracy unmatched by mechanical controls. The Centinel reduces the energy used by the system by precisely controlling superheat and fans, reducing compressor run time, and implementing demand defrosts. It uses a unique self-learning algorithm that allows it to automatically adjust to changing system conditions, making it customized to each individual evaporator. This industry-leading defrost control system was designed for a rapid ROI and exceptionally long service life. The Centinel can be used with both new and existing applications. As the controller is not refrigerant specific and can be easily configured for use with mechanical or electronic expansion valves, it is appropriate for use in a wide range of refrigeration applications. Learn more about Century Refrigeration’s new Centinel control technology in this brochure, available online. Century Refrigeration is a division of RAE Corporation.
