The marijuana market has been evolving quickly since it became legal for recreational use in 2014.

Since then, the edible pot market has soared — but so have the risks associated with using them and having them in your home. After many incidents where kids accidentally ate edible marijuana products led to a string of emergency room visits, new laws were put in place to mitigate these risks.

The laws affect how much THC — the active chemical in pot — are allowed in edible marjiuana products and how they're packaged so that it's not as easy to take too much. This CBS News report concludes that as the market continues to grow, more problems will likely arise, and more innovate laws and packaging solutions will be needed address them.
