The U.S. Army is in the market for a new standard issue handgun. The standard issue handgun has been the Beretta M9 since 1985 and the Army is opening the door to competitors to present their concepts. That does not mean Beretta is out of the running though. They have manufactured a new generation of the M9 to be considered that will be lighter, hold more bullets, more dexterous, and able to withstand extreme heat and sand, all while being equipped with the latest safety features.
