PBS has a report on new research into human regerative tissue, which attempts to replicate the remarkable healing capabilities found in the likes of chameleons and other reptiles in humans. It turns out, humans have the potential to regrow tissue in the same way, but it's not a simple thing to activate. At the same time, other researchers are developing fully-functional "test tube" organs, such as rat lungs, that were grown from a single rat's tissue. In the future, that could mean that those in need of a transplant could have a new organ grown for them —
