OMEGA Introduces Potentiometer Input To DC Transmitters

Omega has recently unveiled the new DMD4008 series of transmitters that accept a resistance input from potentiometers, slidewires, linear position sensors or rotational devices. These provide an optically isolated DC voltage or current output that is linearly related to the potentiometer position.

These provide an optically isolated DC voltage or current output that is linearly related to the potentiometer position. According to the company, the DMD4008 can be set up quickly for hundreds of I/O ranges, with removable plugs that make installation easier. There are external switches and a functional output test button and selectable sink/source for current output. The company says that applications include over, under, out-of-range position monitoring, remote control of position monitoring and more, for automotive and chemical manufacturing.
