(Manufacturing.net) — Clinkenbeard, a rapid prototyping and manufacturing company that serves a wide range of industries in machine castings and parts, has invested in a number of new equipment pieces to better serve its existing customers and reach into new markets. The company, which operates under the M2M Group, currently serves aerospace, automotive, auto racing, heavy truck, power generation, defense and general industrial markets.

Clinkenbeard says it has invested in a Hexagon Metrology 6-axis, portable and on-site ROMER metrology arm, including a scanning head and touch probe, to be used in inspection and quality control. A new four-axis CNC vertical milling center and a five-axis CNC center help increase production efficiency and deliver to customers more quickly.

The company is using these new tools, along with the capabilities of other firms within the M2M Group, to provide OEMs with an array of services to support R&D, product design and production.
