Mega Wattage On An Extendable Mast
Kemp, Texas — Larson Electronics has announced the release of its new 3,000 watt extendable light mast, which is equipped with two 1,500 watt metal halide lamps that produce 300,000 lumens of light combined. The two lamps on the LM-16-FM-2X1500W-EW Light Tower offers the ability to cover large work areas — up to 3.5 acres — with high-quality illumination. They have 19” reflectors and are constructed out of aluminum and a tempered glass lens. Each floodlight is securely fastened to the light boom and each includes a support bracket to maintain lamp stability within its housing.
The 16-foot extendable mast is powered by a 1,000 pound-rated 120 volt Dutton Lainson electric winch with a 3/16” aircraft cable. The process of raising or lowering the tower is controlled by a programmable logic relay and reflected sensors, as opposed to limit switches, for ease of use and improved safety. The company says this tower can withstand winds up to 125 mph when lowered to 9.6’, meaning it has the strength necessary even for industrial applications. In addition, the company is offering lights and masts in custom configurations for companies who need a more unique operation.
