Vendors, Military Buyers Meet At N.C. Trade Show
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- About 100 North Carolina businesses are showing off their robots, bomb-sniffing dogs and shooting-range construction skills at one of the state's largest gathering of military contractors.
The 13th annual North Carolina Defense and Economic Development Trade Show is scheduled for Tuesday at Fayetteville Technical Community College.
The show pulls together buyers from the Pentagon, local military bases and major defense corporations.
Fort Bragg is showing off a highly mobile rocket system, a bomb disposal team with their equipment and robots, and an Airborne infantry squad with weapons and equipment.
A state Commerce Department report says the military is North Carolina's second-largest economic sector, with an annual statewide impact of $48 billion.
