Halco Recalls LED Bulbs Due To Injury, Burn Hazards

The lamps are being recalled because there is a potential for the metal housing and assembly portion of the LED bulb to separate from the plastic driver housing installed in the lighting fixture, which could result in the product falling from the ceiling, presenting possible risk of property damage or injury.

Norcross, GA. (Halco Lighting) -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Halco Lighting Technologies® is announcing a voluntary product recall on ProLED 14W PAR30 and 18W PAR38 lamps with date codes ranging from 6/2009 to 3/2012.

This recall involves PAR30 and PAR38 lamps that can be identified by the name “ProLED” stickered on the plastic housing of the lamp with the product number and date codes ranging from 6/2009 to 3/2012. These lamps are used in a variety of applications including retail displays, down lighting in recessed cans, or as outdoor security lighting. No other ProLED lamps are affected by this recall.
