Eastman Kodak Will Close Manufacturing Plants in France and England

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Eastman Kodak Co., the photography and imaging company, said Thursday it will take $94 million in charges to close two facilities as part of its restructuring process.

The company will take a $57 million charge to close its x-ray film finishing facility in Chalon-sur-Saone, France. Employee termination benefits will account for $45 million of the charges, the company said. The plant closing is expected to be completed by June 30, 2007.

Additionally, Eastman Kodak will take a $37 million charge to close its synthetic chemicals operation and support facilities in Kirkby, U.K. Employee termination benefits account for $29 million of the charges. The closing is expected to be complete by the end of 2007.

The closures are part of a restructuring plan that was announced in 2004.
