Manufacturing equipment maker ATC Automation is expanding its operations in Cookeville and adding 110 new jobs.

The company says most of the new positions will be engineering jobs to help ATC meet growing demand for its assembly lines and test equipment for the automotive, medical, energy and consumer products markets.

ATC, which has been located in Putnam County for nearly four decades, is spending more than $10 million to add 65,000 square feet to its operations.

The expansion is scheduled to be complete by the middle of next year. The company is also upgrading its existing facility and purchasing another building that it currently leases.
