Tesla 'Almost Ready' With Next Self-Driving Update

The update would allow Tesla vehicles to steer themselves and parallel park.

Last week Friday, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk explained (via Twitter) that the company is almost ready to release its latest software upgrade.

The update would allow Tesla vehicles to steer themselves down highways and parallel park without human intervention. The update will be made available to all Tesla owners.

In response to another Twitter user’s questions, “But will one car learn from other cars?” Musk explained that they will.

Another user asked about an LCD screen in from of the camera to mask the sun, to which Musk replied, “various forms of shades are being considered,” although they might not be necessary.

This is just the next step on the road to self-driving vehicles, a process which has seen new, incremental updates, controversy, and challenges at every turn.
