WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton has avoided taking a position on the Keystone XL pipeline but she's likely to be confronted with the issue when she returns to the lecture circuit in Canada
Clinton is headlining paid speaking events in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Wednesday. They come a day after President Barack Obama delivered his State of the Union address and as Congress considers whether to approve construction of the oil pipeline.
Clinton remains the leading Democratic contender to succeed Obama if she runs for president again.
The former U.S. secretary of state has so far stayed neutral on Keystone, saying it wouldn't be appropriate for her comment while the State Department is still conducting a formal review of the project.
