A Wisconsin-based company says it is buying a Maine paper mill that was shut down due to high wood and energy costs.

WABI-TV reports that Expera Specialty Solutions announced on Tuesday that it's purchasing the Old Town Fuel and Fiber mill and will resume pulp production. The company expects that the sale will be completed by the end of the year.

The mill suspended operations and furloughed about 200 employees in August because high costs and foreign competition made it too expensive to continue operating.

Gov. Paul LePage said Monday that there are also three companies interested in buying the Great Northern Paper mill in East Millinocket.
