A Michigan-based automotive supplier has announced plans for its first Indiana operation.
Fisher Dynamics said Wednesday that it will create 169 jobs within two years of the opening of a 113,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Evansville. The privately-owned company that makes automotive seating components plans to invest $13 million in the operation. It plans to manufacture and assemble front-row seat structures at the new plant.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Fisher & Company, which owns Fisher Dynamics, as much as $1.2 million in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on job creation plans.
The company plans to begin renovations in December and operations in May.
Fisher has operations in the U.S., Mexico, Germany, Poland, China, and India. It currently employs about 1,700 people across the globe.
