The SME Education Foundation is pleased to announce it will establish two new scholarships specifically for Focus: HOPE students pursuing careers in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, or a closely related field. The application opens Nov. 1, 2014.

β€œThe SME Education Foundation is committed to supporting the next generation of the manufacturing workforce,” said SME Education Foundation President Brian Ruestow. β€œPartnering with Focus: HOPE on these new scholarships will allow us to further support the students who are the future of manufacturing.”

About the scholarships: 

    • E. Wayne Kay/Focus: HOPE Scholarship: Applicants must have completed at least one term at a school affiliated with Focus: HOPE and be a part-time or full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing technology or a closely related field in the U.S.
    • E. Wayne Kay/Focus: HOPE Community College Scholarship: Applicants must be a part-time or full-time undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing or a closely related field at a two-year community college or trade school, affiliated with Focus: HOPE in the U.S.  Also, applicants must have completed at least one term at the postsecondary institution, with less than 60 college credit hours completed.

There will be a total of 10, $3,000 awards split evenly between the two scholarships. For more information, visit smeef.org/scholarship.
