The Ohio unemployment rate was still better than the national rate for August, which as 6.1 percent, down from 6.2 percent in July.

Ohio's non-agricultural employment number rose from a revised 5,292,700 in July to 5,292,900 in August.

Employment in the private service sector decreased by 5,600 in August.
