Former GM Site Sold To Aircraft Maintenance Company

A former General Motors facility in Washtenaw County has been sold to aircraft maintenance company International Turbine Industries.

YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A former General Motors facility in Washtenaw County has been sold to aircraft maintenance company International Turbine Industries.

The Revitalizing Auto Communities Environmental Response Trust on Wednesday announced the completion of the sale of the Company Vehicle Operations property in Ypsilanti Township. International Turbine Industries has an existing facility nearby.

The company says it plans to create 25 jobs over the next five years, more than tripling its current workforce, and invest about $50,000 in repairs and improvements to the 23,000-square-foot building. The RACER Trust announced a sale agreement in 2013.

The RACER Trust took over sites around the country left behind in General Motors' bankruptcy.
