GM Proposes Expansion For Michigan Crossover Plant

General Motors Co. is considering a $37 million expansion of a mid-Michigan plant that makes three crossover vehicles.

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- General Motors Co. is considering a $37 million expansion of a mid-Michigan plant that makes three crossover vehicles.

The Detroit automaker is seeking a tax break for work at its Lansing Delta Township assembly plant, which makes the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia. GM is working with Lansing Area Economic Partnership Inc. on the plan.

GM declined to disclose details of its proposed project but says in a statement that it's "developing a business case for a potential future investment" that would boost "the plant's manufacturing capability."

The application is expected to be introduced Monday at a Lansing City Council meeting.
