TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Suzuki Motor Corp. said Thursday it will recall a total of 31,744 units of the AZ Offroad vehicle sold by Mazda Motor Corp. and its Jimny sport utility vehicle due to possible loose suspension bolts that could make steering control difficult.

The vehicles subject to the recall were made between May 2012 and March this year, according to a report filed with the transport ministry. Some 45,000 units of the two models that are exported to overseas markets, including Germany and China, may be subject to similar measures.

There have so far been no reports of accidents caused by the problem, Suzuki said.

Bolts fixing the vehicle's axle to its chassis on the front suspension may become loose while driving, possibly affecting steering, according to Suzuki, which makes the AZ Offroad for Mazda.
