Plastic Products Company Inc. (PPC), a manufacturer of plastics and injection molding, has announced its plan to invest $3.2M in a new facility in Seneca, S.C. As part of the expansion, the company is expected to create 68 new jobs.
The company currently expects to begin operations as early as June of this year with a small staff of existing employees. The hiring of additional permanent personnel will likely begin next month.
In a statement, the company said: "Along with current product shipping to South Carolina, the business friendly climate made Seneca an easy choice to grow our business. We appreciate the support given on behalf of the state of South Carolina and Oconee County."
PPC, which is headquartered in Lindstrom, Minn., was established in 1962 and currently maintains seven other locations. The South Carolina facility will be a first for the 100 percent employee-owned company.
On news about the investment, Gov. Nikki Haley said, "We couldn't be more excited to welcome PPC to South Carolina. Their presence will bring great things to Seneca and the state of South Carolina as a whole - creating 68 new jobs and putting our citizens to work."
