UK Authorities Reportedly Arrest 2 In Rolls Probe

Britain's Press Association says U.K. authorities have arrested two people as part of an investigation into the dealings in Asia of the engine maker Rolls-Royce PLC. The arrests come after the fraud office announced in December that it had opened a criminal investigation into bribery and corruption allegations at the defense and aerospace group.

LONDON (AP) -- Britain's Press Association says U.K. authorities have arrested two people as part of an investigation into the dealings in Asia of the engine maker Rolls-Royce PLC.

The Serious Fraud Office says two men were arrested after search warrants were executed in London on Wednesday. The SFO did not give further details about the arrests and the company declined to comment.

The arrests come after the fraud office announced in December that it had opened a criminal investigation into bribery and corruption allegations at the defense and aerospace group.

Rolls Royce disclosed in 2012 that the SFO asked the company to investigate allegations of bribery and corruption in Indonesia and China. The company hired a law firm to examine the allegations and handed the file to the SFO.
