STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Sikorsky Aircraft workers in Connecticut and Florida have approved a new contract that includes a 10 percent wage increase over four years and $4,000 signing bonuses.

Officials with Teamsters Local 1150 say union members approved the agreement by a vote of 2,098 to 66 on Sunday.

Union leaders say the contract also includes a 15 percent increase in the pension multiplier and a 20 percent increase to the cash balance pension. The deal went into effect Monday.

Sikorsky makes Black Hawk helicopters and is a division of Hartford-based United Technologies Corp. The new contract covers about 4,500 workers at Sikorsky's headquarters in Stratford, Conn., and its facility in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Sikorsky released a statement saying the contract is fair to workers and helps Sikorsky remain competitive.
