RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (AP) — A company that manufactures quartz countertops is planning to build a facility in Bryan County and create 180 jobs.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced Wednesday that Caesarstone is planning to invest between $70 million and $100 million in the new plant in Richmond Hill — about 20 miles southwest of Savannah.

Deal says the company will import raw materials to make new countertops, and will export the finished products from Georgia's ports.

CEO of the Israel-based company Yos Shiran says Bryan County offers a combination of a skilled workforce and a strong logistics infrastructure.

State officials say Caesarstone is joining more than 40 Israeli companies that are already doing business in the state.

The company produces engineered quartz surfaces that are used in residential and commercial buildings.
