DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- Ford will reveal an all-new version of its Mustang sports car on Dec. 5.
This will be the sixth generation of the iconic pony car, which saw its last full redesign in 2005.
The Mustang will debut in six cities on four continents. Events will be held in New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Shanghai and Sydney in addition to Ford's hometown of Dearborn, Mich.
That echoes its debut in 1964, when the original Mustang was unveiled in New York and 11 European cities.
Ford Motor Co. promises a new design and greater refinement for the 2015 Mustang, which should help revive sales.
Mustang sales are flat compared with last year, and it's currently outsold by its archrival, the Chevrolet Camaro.
