3D Systems To Invest $10 Million In S.C. Operations

3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) announced today its plan to invest $10 million into its Rock Hill, S.C., manufacturing operations, which will create 145 new jobs. Local officials applauded the announcement, saying the company has a history of creating high quality and high-paying jobs that utilize many of the latest in manufacturing technologies.

Rock Hill, S.C. (Manufacturing.net) — 3D Systems (NYSE:DDD) announced today its plan to invest $10 million into its Rock Hill, S.C., manufacturing operations, which will create 145 new jobs. Local officials applauded the announcement, saying the company has a history of creating high quality and high-paying jobs that utilize many of the latest in manufacturing technologies. Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said 3D Systems’ expansion is another boost to the state’s “manufacturing renaissance.”

“To accommodate unprecedented demand for our products, we are expanding our manufacturing operations in the Charlotte Region. We are literally manufacturing the future in Rock Hill and deeply appreciate all the support we've received from state and local officials,” said Avi Reichental, President and CEO of 3D Systems Corporation.

3D Systems is a 3D printing inventor and provider of 3D content-to-print solutison, including 3D printers, print materials and on-demand custom parts services for professionals and consumers alike. The company offers its customers a variety of materials, including thermoplastics, ceramics, metals and even edible sugar, and the additional software tools to enable engineers and tinkerers to design and print prototypes or real parts.
