The Kansas City Area Development Council has announced that IBC North America and Clean Tide Container will open a new facility in the Kansas City area to manufacture and refurbish intermediate bulk containers. The sister companies will invest more than $5 million to build the expansion, which will also create 87 new jobs in the area.
The 50,000 square-foot facility is the third facility for IBC North America and the fifth for Clean Tide Container, and is being built to help the companies keep up with increased demand from the agricultural sector. It will also increase the companies’ ability to work with companies based in the Midwest.
Bob Marcusse, president and CEO, Kansas City Area Development Council, said in a statement: “The entire Kansas City region celebrates this announcement today along with the addition of more than 80 skilled manufacturing jobs. American manufacturing is alive and well, and the KC region is an ideal location for the industry to grow.”
Dick Harding, president and chief executive officer of IBC North America, added: “Missouri’s extensive resources and friendly business climate play a key role in our ability to grow here, and we thank the state for their continued support. As we expand into Missouri, we look forward to furthering relationships with our existing Missouri clients as well as developing new partnerships.”
