EUFAULA, Okla. (AP) -- Two people are hospitalized in Tulsa after an explosion outside a sandblasting plant in Eufaula.

McIntosh County Sheriff Kevin Ledbetter told reporters the two were injured in the blast at Ford Sandblasting in west Eufaula shortly after noon Tuesday. Officials say the two suffered burns in the blast but their names and conditions were not immediately released.

Plant co-owner Michael Ford told The Associated Press he was going to the Tulsa hospital and said he can't talk until he knows the conditions of the injured workers.

Authorities say the explosion may have involved a propane tank and that the fire is under control.

Officials say students at nearby Eufaula Elementary School were sent to Eufaula High School and some homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution.
