Advanced Technical Finishing, the Huntsville, Ala.-based surface treatment resource for components in a variety of industries — aerospace, defense, medical and transportation — is adding 16,000 square feet to the current facility with a $10 million investment.

(Manufacturing.net) — The Huntsville, Ala.-based surface treatment resource for components in a variety of industries — aerospace, defense, medical and transportation — is adding 16,000 square feet to the current facility with a $10 million investment. The company is currently ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100:2009 Rev C certified and is completing its NADCAP certification.

With the new expansion, the company will be able to speed execution and decrease turnaround time by upgrading current anodizing line equipment (Type I, II and III). A new electroless nickel processing line and a titanium finishing line (Type II and III) will also help the company introduce military-grade coatings, which are currently only available in the western U.S., to the East Coast.

ATF has also renovated its 3,000 square-foot painting facility to include state-of-the-art sandblasting booths, walk-in curing ovens for paint and powder coating, a DI water system for process lines with large reserve tanks and more. A new ventilation system makes the workplace cleaner and safer for employees.

In a statement, John Cordes, ATF’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are very excited about all the growth ATF is experiencing this year. Not only are we expanding both operations and capabilities, but our expansion is creating jobs. To help manage this growth, we have assembled a new management team comprised of seasoned leaders with over 120 years of combined industry experience.”
