MADISONVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- A plastics company that has plants in four other Kentucky cities plans to reopen a facility in western Kentucky, creating 400 new full-time jobs in Madisonville.
Berry Plastics Corp. announced Tuesday it will begin reconfiguring the Madisonville plant, with production expected to begin next year. The company closed the facility, which had about 140 workers, earlier this year after redistributing production to other locations.
Gov. Steve Beshear said the project would include an investment of nearly $100 million.
Berry Plastics was established in 1967. It has more than 950 employees at facilities in Bowling Green, Danville, Franklin and Louisville.
The state has approved the company for tax incentives up to $10.45 million.
