BLUEFIELD, Va. (AP) — A worker is recovering from injuries suffered in an explosion at a manufacturing plant in southwest Virginia.

Media outlets say the explosion occurred Tuesday at Pemco Corp.'s plant in Bluefield.

Bluefield Fire Department Chief Jim Hardy says the worker suffered burns on his hands, face and chest. He was transported to a hospital in Bristol, Va.

Hardy says the damage was limited to an industrial-type oven that exploded.

The cause of the explosion hasn't been determined.

Pemco officials say the company is investigating the accident and taking measures to ensure workers' safety.

Pemco manufactures products for the mining industry.
