The West Virginia Manufacturing Extension Partnership is getting a $365,700 grant award National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the grant on Wednesday.
The program located on the campus of West Virginia University is designed to help small and medium-sized companies create jobs, develop new products and expand into new markets.
Rockefeller says West Virginia has a strong manufacturing history and the funds will support the state's manufacturing future. Manchin said that while manufacturing sector is struggling, manufacturers in West Virginia work hard to innovate and keep good-paying jobs in the state.
