Electrolux Gives $5M Contract To Memphis Firm

Appliance maker awarded a $5 million equipment contract to a Memphis company for the development of assembly line and conveyance systems at its new plant.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Appliance maker Electrolux says it has awarded a $5 million equipment contract to a Memphis company for the development of assembly line and conveyance systems at its new plant.

A statement from Electrolux released Monday says Integrated Solutions has won the contract to build five high-tech assembly lines at its cooking appliances plant, which is under construction in southeast Memphis.

Electrolux has said it intends to spend more than half of the $80 million construction project locally. The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2014 and is expected to employ 1,200 people.
