Nashville Wire Products Acquires AWP

Nashville Wire Products Mfg. Co., a Nashville-based manufacturer of steel and wire products, purchased substantially all of the assets of their leading competitor AWP Industries of Frankfort, KY.

Nashville,Tenn.— Nashville Wire Products Mfg. Co., a Nashville-based manufacturer of steel and wire products, purchased substantially all of the assets of their leading competitor AWP Industries of Frankfort, KY. The acquisition, which was finalized on December 30th, establishes Nashville Wire as the undisputed leading manufacturer of wire decking for pallet rack and wire containers.

Nashville Wire is a 78-year-old family business now under its third generation of family management. The company operates in three primary markets: material handling, retail displays, and components for the appliance industry. “The AWP acquisition presented us with a perfect opportunity to grow the material handling segment of our business by absorbing a capable and well respected competitor,” said Steven Rollins President & CEO.

American Wire Products was established in 1990 by Craig F. Chamberlin. The company prospered and later changed their name to AWP Industries in 1995 partly to recognize growth in areas beyond their core competency of wire deck fabrication. Today AWP is one of the largest producers of steel bulk containers and custom parts handling solutions.

Operations for both AWP and Nashville Wire will continue as normal during the merger process, which is already underway. “We are excited about the synergies this merger will bring to our customers,” said Steve Johnson, Nashville Wire’s VP of Sales. “We now have more product lines to offer, more inventory available, more convenient shipping points. Both of these companies have always been customer focused and this really gives us a chance to take our combined organizations to the next level and that excites us.”
