Pepperidge Recalls Sesame Sticks For Embedded Wire
NORWALK, Conn. (AP) -- Pepperidge Farm Inc. is recalling 261,000 packages of its Baked Naturals Sesame Sticks due to the possible presence of small, thin pieces of wire, the snack maker said Friday.
Four consumers reported minor scrapes in and around the mouth from trying to eat the product.
The affected sesame sticks packages are 10.2-ounce boxes with sell-by dates of Nov. 20, 2011 through Jan. 1, 2012 stamped on the top flap. There is a yellow banner stating "20 percent more" across the top of the box.
Pepperidge Farm said customers who bought the affected sesame sticks should not eat them. Customers should return boxes to the store where they bought them for a full refund.
Consumers can reach Pepperidge Farm during weekdays between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (866) 535-3774.
The product was made in the company's Willard, Ohio, plant. Pepperidge Farm is based in Norwalk, Conn.
