GE Healthcare Brings Vision, Innovation to SIIM 2011

WASHINGTON, DC – June 2, 2011 – With a clear vision and a portfolio loaded full of innovation and imagination, GE Healthcare IT arrived in Washington, DC, at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2011, ready to show its latest to the industry and its customers. Among the highlights:

• Centricity* Radiology Mobile Access—allowing remote reading of images, 3D reconstructions and reports from the Apple iPhone and iPad, as well as Android platforms.
• Centricity Imaging Analytics - Real-time Dashboard—helps radiology organizations manage enterprise revenue and cost containment mandates by handling volume from increased referrals without adding additional staff or scanners.
• Centricity RIS-IC 10.7—featuring new, improved functionality to drive radiology productivity and compliance.
• Centricity RIS/PACS-IW Solution 4.1.3—enables outpatient imaging providers to maximize revenue cycle management and optimize workflow, with an integrated, web-based, end-to-end solution for RIS/PACS/Billing/Reporting.

GE is also participating in several SIIM sessions aimed at educating attendees on various aspects of today’s hottest issues. On Thursday, June 2, GE will participate on a vendor panel discussing the issue of advanced visualization. The 90-minute session takes place at 1:15 in Learning Track 1. Later in the day, at 2:45 in the Innovation Theater, the Company will join a panel titled “Meaningful Use Through a Vendor’s Eyes.” On Saturday, GE Healthcare leaders will conduct an innovative demonstration supporting the work of SIIM’s Transforming the Radiological Interpretation Process (TRIP) initiative. The two-hour session, featuring the technology of Centricity Imaging Analytics - Real-time Dashboard, begins at 11am and aims to show how an industry standard for consistent radiology workflow could be beneficial.

Earlier this week, GE participated in its 3rd Centricity Imaging User Summit, which attracted nearly 100 Centricity customers, as well as user groups specific to Centricity RIS, Centricity PACS and Centricity PACS-IW.

“GE believes in the power of IT to make a difference in people’s lives,” said Don Woodlock, Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare IT. “We’ve aligned our imaging portfolio to a vision that we truly believe is more than a vision. ‘One desktop, One patient, One community’ represents a commitment we’ve made to our customers and the patients they serve.
